AZ-LITE
AZ-LITE is a low-calorie (1 K/cal per gramme)
randomly bonded polymer of dextrose, which allows food manufacturers
to replace all or part of the sugar in a product formulation. This
means manufacturers can produce a range of healthy products that
taste as good as their standard range.
AZ-LITE has a low Glycaemic Index, which means it is suitable for
products being developed for diabetics and Atkins diet followers.
And with a slightly higher viscosity than sugar, low fat products
including AZ-LITE will have a fuller texture and better mouthfeel.
AZ-LITE is also well tolerated during digestion, which means food
products including this high value ingredient do not need to carry
any laxative warning labels – unlike with the sugar alcohols. |
