FormaXol®

What is FormaXol®?

FormaXol® is an encapsulated source of formic acid and citric acid manufactured using unique patented Fluid Bed technology. It has the added benefit of also containing RepaXol® encapsulatedessential oil blend to further enhance its beneficial effects in the digestive tract.

Why use FormaXol®?

Pigs and poultry are highly susceptible to disease and associated growth checks due to modern farming practices. Inclusion of a strong organic acid in the diet can help minimise these problems by acting as an antibacterial in the gut, helping prevent post weaning scours and enteric disease, in particular problems associated with Salmonella. The added benefit of RepaXol gives additional activity in the gut due to synergistic effects with the organic acids. RepaXol also benefits the digestive process by stimulating enzyme secretion and improving feed efficiency. FormaXol® has been proven in a number of trials to be highly effective in pigs, poultry and rabbits.

Why is FormaXol® different?

The fluid bed protection process allows strong organic acids to be presented in a powder form which is much safer to handle in the mill. It also allows addition to premixes without the risk of interaction with other sensitive ingredients. The encapsulation technology also improves palatability and means release of formic acid in the stomach is reduced so it is predominantly released in the small intestine, thus spreading the benefits further down the intestinal tract. This makes it very effective against intestinal pathogens such as Salmonella spp., E coli spp. and Clostridium spp. when risk of infections may be present. The added inclusion of RepaXol makes FormaXol® a unique and powerful method of protection against enteric disease, whilst boosting digestive function, in all species.

Usage guidelines and considerations

When using dietary acidifiers the buffering capacity of the feed must be considered.

Pigs, poultry and rabbits – 2-4 kg/tonne feed

Dairy cattle – 50-150g/head/day
