RepaXol®

What is RepaXol®?

RepaXol®is a blend of essential oils (oregano, cinnamon, thyme, capsicum and citrus extracts), microencapsulated by a unique complex coacervation process to ensure slow release, intended for use in the diets of pigs, poultry and ruminants.

Why use RepaXol®?

As genetics and animal production technology advance, demand for increasingly efficient production means the search is always on for nutritional means of optimising animal health and performance. The impending ban on in-feed antibiotics within the EU in January 2006 has led to significant interest in natural feed additives. Essential oils are long established as being effective at stimulating appetite and the digestive process due to effects on digestive enzyme secretion, gut motility and by helping to achieve a correct microbial balance in the digestive tract. It has also been proven that certain extracts can act synergistically when blended together, proving more effective than feeding a single product. RepaXol® has been developed to incorporate a blend of plant extracts that have proven benefits to the digestive process and gut health. These are all encapsulated within a fat matrix to ensure the active ingredients are delivered to the place where they are most effective – the small intestine and hind gut.

Why is RepaXol® different from other essential oil products?

Unlike many essential oil blends, due to its unique double coating, RepaXol® is stable in high temperatures commonly used in feed processing techniques. Trials have shown the product is unaltered after exposure to 130oC temperatures for 30 minutes. RepaXol®  is also stable in the acid environment of the stomach. The complex coacervation encapsulation process allows a progressive release along the whole digestive tract, thus benefiting the whole digestive process.
